Early days
My parents would say I’ve always taken a special interest in art. My birthday and Christmas gifts were often centered around creative pursuits, I bought lettering books at the Scholastic Book Fair, and more than once I supplied my cabinet maker father with “technical" drawings of things to build for me.
Education
With an interest in all fields of design, I first took a one-year Pre Design Studies program at Algonquin College to explore graphic, industrial and interior design. From there, I pursued graphic design and took the Advanced Diploma Graphic Design program at St. Lawrence College, and have been working with the private and public sector ever since.
Career start
My first job out of college was at a small design studio in Ottawa, which meant I got my hands on big projects for a Junior Designer. Same thing happened at my next small studio job: small team + big projects meant I was able to build a portfolio with work that I’m still proud of to this day.
Current work
Lately, as a full time freelancer, I’ve been up to some exciting things: website design for a global footwear brand, a special edition newsposter to celebrate a summer camp’s fifth year running, and a special passion project to discover some specific Canadian-made products.
